4 Days To Go...

And the weather still wont make it's mind up, I've heard that next weekend will be rainy and Gemma's heard that it will be sunny. I think I should take wellies and sun block to be on the safe side!
Gemma and Helen keep talking about which Streets song they hope they play, Gemma wants them to play the 'don't mug yourself' one, but Helen wants them to play the 'dry your eyes' one!

On Wednesday at 4:47pm The War Against Townies began, it all started at the bus stop outside Safeway in Shirley when me and Gemma were waiting for a bus, a car full of Barries went past and threw a slice of pizza at Gemma. Whether this was retaliation for the gherkins or just another drive by pizza-ing we cannot be sure at this point but what we can be sure of is that they will not get away easily for what they did.

We then went on to Tesco to see if they had any tents going cheap - they didn't, so we went to McDonald's for a double cheeseburger, Gemma planted some gherkins on a chair and we almost had someone sit in them! After a quick drink at the Plough and placing another gherkin on a builder's van I went to catch the number 4 bus to take me down the Stratford road so I could get my bus home, the bus came straight away which was weird, but then it took me into Solihull so I had to wait 45 minutes for the next bus...Bummer!

I had to order my tent through Argos in the end, it was on special offer, a double tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 ground sheets and 2 backpacks for £44.99 - bargain! It came on Saturday and Adam came round so we put the tent up in the garden, it only took 20 minutes but when it comes to putting it up on Thursday I can see it taking the majority of the day!

Today's been a bit boring, I thought about mowing the lawn but realized that I couldn't actually be arsed so I left it, I was also going to go to the quiz at the Red Lion but laziness and lack of money have prevented me!

10 Days To Go...

Reading is just around the corner now and I'm getting really excited!
Gemma keeps on telling me about how much she's looking forward to seeing 50-Cent live there and how he's a P.I.M.P. or something.

My weekend was a bit more interesting than previous ones, I got a text off Adam on Saturday about going to Andy's barbecue, we met Bobby, Steve and Marcus in Knowle and after a rocket from Steve for being late we tried to find the house where the barbecue was taking place. The house wasn't Andy's house though, in fact, I'm not sure who's house it was but it was a bit bloody posh! The actual barbecue was good, we had some huge burgers which must have contained half a cow in each one, after the burgers, and the Stella, and the complaining about feeling sick we all went down to this sort of park thing and had a kickabout, the grass was knee-high so the ball didn't travel too far unless you kicked it as hard as you possibly could!

In the evening I went to the Sharmans with Gemma and Helen, when we got there they had a Simply Red tribute act on called 'Red Mick' or something like that, he looked a bit like him, but I think that is where the similarities must end, we wanted to get served straight away so we could sit outside away from the noise of Red Mick but I had to wait 45 minutes at the bar before I was served! By the time we got outside he had already finished singing Helen's favourite Simply Red song about the Fairground and had started singing Robbie Williams, we found invitations to somebody called Katie's 18th birthday party but we decided that she looked a bit retarded so we went to the Academy instead.

When we got to the Academy we hadn't even been there 10 minutes before we saw Shitface, but we avoided the puneta for most of the night which was ok, we also some saw weirdos doing this freaky dance to Just by Radiohead who Gemma filmed on her phone. Something I've noticed is that the past few times I've been at the Academy every song I request gets played, on Saturday I requested Pixies, Cannonball by The Breeders and Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones and they all got played almost straight away!

Sunday I slept for most of the day but when I woke up my leg was killing me, I kept thinking it was something to do with the Academy from the night before but I reckon it must have been kicking that ball in the long grass, in the evening I went to the pub quiz at the Red Lion, we came last again but I had a kebab burger afterwards so it was a good night!

Today I've spent most of the day helping my Nan who hasn't been too well just lately, I showed her some of the photos I've taken for my course, but some of the things she says make me laugh, I was showing her my photos from Earlswood:

"where was this taken?"
"Earlswood"
"oh....where was this one taken?"
"that one is Earlswood too"
"what about this one?"
"Earlswood, they're all of Earlswood"
"oh, ok...that doesn't look much like Stratford to me"

I then walked her to the shop, this random old bloke was singing there which I found a bit funny but then again that's Warstock for you I guess, my Nan bought me a Kinder Happy Hippo for helping her, I really was a happy hippo then until I ate it and I became a nauseous hippo!
Just had steak for tea covered in vinegar (ha ha!) Yumm! I should be going out tonight, not sure where yet though but Adam said he'll let me know...I bet he doesn't!

English Summer Rain Seems To Last For Ages...

After a really boring weekend, this week has been a bit more exciting, Monday I went into Solihull and then met Gemma and went to the Saracen's, then in the evening Me, Gemma and Helen went to the Jug, it was a good night and I really enjoyed it!

Yesterday I phoned up an employment agency called The Best Connection to see if they had any work, they told me to come in so I could fill in a form and be on their books.
I got a bus to Solihull so i could catch a train to Tyseley station but there were none due for another 45 minutes, the bloke at the station told me I could get a number 37 bus which would take me there.
I got on the bus and the driver let me get on for free which I thought was quite nice, he also said he'll tell me when we were at Tyseley station too which would be a great help because I'm not familiar with that area.
I was sat on the bus looking out for where I was, I knew I was in Tyseley because the shops had Tyseley written on the front, so I just had to find a station, then I realize that I'm now in Small Heath and the driver didn't tell me when we were at the station!
After walking from Small Heath station to Tyseley station I wasn't in the happiest of moods, I found The Best Connection and walked in, I walked up to the desk but nobody acknowledged the fact that I was stood there, after 10 minutes of standing there while coughing and clearing my throat to get their attention they asked if they could help.
I told them that I was a student looking for work for the summer and they told me (after stopping me mid-sentence to answer a phone) that they couldn't do anything there and that I'd have to phone in and do it over the phone which was what I tried to do originally, they then gave me a card and told me I could stand in the doorway and call them on my mobile and make an appointment...the cheek!
...I then walked out!

In the evening I went to the quiz at the Sharmans, not sure what place we came in at but I know it wasn't very high!

In Between Days...

Haven't updated my site since Tuesday - oops!

Wednesday

Had my annual room tidying, cleared all the college notes, photos, magazines, etc off the floor and then realized how big my room actually is, considering I have a double bed and a single bed in my room and then room for a family of medium sized rhinos my room isn't that bad really!

Thursday

Had no sleep the night before which wasn't a good start, went on another unsuccessful job hunt, got home and wasn't in 5 minutes before the storm started, it was weird how it all went dark then all you could hear was a distant rumbling for a few minutes, then the heavens opened and the rain was coming down in gallons. As I was watching in amazement my mum rang me telling me not to forget my jeans which were on the washing line, I was going to take some photos out of the window of the rain too but people started getting suspicious of me stood in the window holding my camera.
In the evening I went to the Flapper with Gemma and Helen which was cool, luckily the storm had finished by then.

Friday

Because it was the last day of my mum's fortnight off work I went into Stratford for the day with her, we caught the Stratford blue from Shirley, it was quite a nice bus journey, I spent the whole journey trying to work out why the bus driver was waving out of the window all the way there, it was only when the bus stop that i noticed that he wasn't waving, it was his sleeve flapping out of the window as he drove along!
Stratford was pretty cool, there were loads on people speaking different languages and as always loads of Americans, there was also this weird bloke who was juggling with fire and then shoved it down his trousers!

Saturday

Had a bit of a lazy day (for a change), my Nan came over for a bit and we all sat round complaining about the heat, my next door neighbour told me he was selling his Praktica with 4 lenses (one of them being a huge telephoto lens), a cable release and 6 filters, I was expecting it to be about £200 so i was going to say no but then he told me he was selling it for £20 so i got it - bargain! I spent the whole evening waiting for him to come back though because he was going to sell it at a car boot sale today if I wasn't interested, he came back at about midnight in the end, and then Mr High-Speed Garage started having a rave until 3 am!

Today's been a bit boring, mowed the lawn, came on here, that's it so far, just got a chinese then I'm off to the red lion to attempt the quiz!

I've Got A Golden Ticket...

Woohoo! My ticket for Reading came today, only 24 days to go - that's just over 3 weeks and I still need a tent! I broke the news to my mum last night about me buying the ticket, I was expecting an argument but she was surprisingly ok about it all. I'm thinking about working nights somewhere, the only thing that worries me is catching up with sleep afterwards, my road is the noisiest in the world when you need to get some sleep!

Something funny just happened, a local Barry just ran down the road shitting his Kappa pants while being chased by a 3 legged dog, everybody came out to laugh at him and this other dog came out and chased him back up the road!

For some really weird reason I keep waking up at either 2:10, 4:20 or 7:20am, mentioning no names here, my phone will rinG and whoEver it is calling at that tiMe in the Morning is wAking me up! I'll geT my OwN bacK Soon though!

Pinch And A Punch...

It's the first of the month and the sun is out, August all being well should be quite a good month, there's always something really positive about it, I've just bought my Reading tickets off E-bay, which means in 4 weeks time I'll be breathing in the dust and getting sunburnt all over again, I'm really excited!

Yesterday I went round Gemma's house then we went into Solihull and managed to make 3 people sit on gherkins in McDonald's, they were all sharons which made it all funnier! In the evening I went round Adam's house with Carl and Jo, we watched Red Dragon which was ok, the best bit was when Will was talking to this blind woman and he said "There's nothing wrong with you...apart from your hair"
...well I found it funny anyway!

Tonight I'm off to the quiz at the Red Lion which should be good, I haven't been for a while so we'll probably start doing crap again!
