Licenced To Ill...

So in my last blog I left you with the (fairly shit) cliff-hanger of me waking up with a cold. It was one of those colds where your nose just streams and your head feels like a sponge. I spent that Sunday feeling absolutely awful and had more or less ruled out doing anything that week. The next day however I felt much better and as soon as I left the house it seemed to clear up, which is making me think maybe it was an allergy to dust or the soap powder.

Monday evening we all went bowling, we used to go about twice every week at one point but due to us all being skint/lazy we hadn’t gone in 2 years. We had some pretty close games too, Gaz won the first and Adam won the second, I came 3rd and 2nd which is either due to me getting better at it, or everyone else getting worse.

The next day we did the quiz again, we came 4th so we seem to be improving a little bit more each week, if we keep this up we should be 3rd place next time. *

On Thursday me and Gaz wanted to go somewhere for the day to take photos, we got in the car and then realized we had nowhere to go. We saw a sign for Sarehole Mill, so we decided to go there and look round the mill, however when we got there we read that the mill was closed until Easter so we got back in the car and chose to find somewhere else to go.

I fancied some chocolate so I mentioned Cadbury’s World, after a slight detour we got there and walked in only to find out that it costs £10 to go round so we bought a bar of chocolate and decided to try somewhere else. I remember seeing a Cadbury’s crème egg car last time I was there and was determined to find one but we couldn’t find any, I told Gaz I’d prove that they do exist so here’s my proof.

As we were driving around we saw a sign saying ‘Quadball’, this sounded interesting. Was it paintball? Was it quad biking? Was it paintball on quad bikes? We decided to have a look and see. It turns out to be an indoor paintball, we were shown round and told of some of the different packages you can get, and we’ve pencilled ourselves in for in a few weeks for Gaz’s birthday.

The next day was the last day of half term so me and Gaz went over to Stratford to see how the Shakespeare massive were hanging. When we got there though there was nowhere to park, so while queuing for a car park we saw a little pub where we could park and have a quick beverage. When we went in I had ‘Always Your Way’ by My Vitriol going through my head, the song is 5 years old and very underrated but a brilliant song and worth downloading if you haven’t heard it before. The reason I mention this song is as I sat down with it going through my head they started playing it in the pub, it was an acoustic version but sounded just as good as the original.

On Friday night I bought Battlefield 2 for the X-Box off eBay, it was only £12 and should be here tomorrow (as I’ve been saying all week). If it’s anything like Battlefield 1942 it should be brilliant, we used to spend all our time and money playing 1942 at Fragz, I’ve watched a few videos of it and I cant wait.

On Monday I was back at college, everyone was getting stuff ready for focus but because I had work up last year I’m not having any up this time so I got on with my Flash site, if anyone knows how to do websites in Flash I’d be grateful of the help, it’s impossible!

That night I needed a drink so we decided to try a different pub, we went to the Red Lion in Earlswood, it was £2.90 for a Jack Daniels and coke (it’s £1.75 at the jug), I only had £5.50 on me thinking that would be enough for 2 drinks so I had to try and make my drink last the night. It lasted me about 5 minutes. Now they are banning smoking in pubs watch the price of alcohol go through the roof.

I should be prime minister.

*We did the quiz again last night…we came 10th. So much for my theory.

Ill Communication…

Just thought I’d give you all a quick update of the past week or so.

Last Wednesday we all went to the jug of ale in Moseley to see the bands playing, the first band were called The Black Flash, they weren’t too bad although not that many people turned up.

The next band were The Big Bang who were a cross between Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Liars and The Rapture, they were quite good but the wouldn’t keep still for me to get a good enough photo.

The final band were The Motorettes, they looked a bit like a Geordie version of The Bravery crossed with Supergrass wearing Snoop Dogg T-shirts, have a listen to them if you get the chance to.

The highlight of the night though had to be this short gay guy dancing round Adam for most of the night and then in front of the Motorettes like he was on drug
s, although he probably was.

Friday I had college, I finished yet another panorama (in record time too) and then decided to have a look round the shops in Solihull because I needed a bag for college. I bought one from Burton but on the way out I had the horrible feeling it was the same as the bag Adam got just before Christmas, luckily it wasn’t. I also bought Wrestlemania 21 for the X-Box which was utter shite, the graphics are good but the game itself is just dire, the only good thing going for it is that you can play it on X-Box live, but it’s so crap that nobody bothers.

Last Sunday I went to the Lickey hills with Adam, I decided to bring my camera to get back into the swing of this photo taking lark, I was going to experiment with long exposures, but that’s easier said than done with a digital automatic camera, I got the hang of it though for some really eerie effects.

After a while though we got lost and ended up in the middle of nowhere, we found ourselves near a field with laminated poems hanging off trees, one of them was a riddle about a sail but I’ve forgotten how it goes now.

That night I went to bed having to be up early for college but I couldn’t sleep, my alarm went off with me still wide awake so I thought I’d be strong and force myself into college, although I didn’t make it any further than the settee as I quickly fell asleep as soon as I got downstairs, I spent the rest of the day catching up with sleep only to find out that I’ve broken up from college for half term as Friday is teacher training.

Tuesday was pub quiz day and we lost again (despite cheating), although Jenny, Nicola and Julia from Woodrush came along to help so we didn’t do as crap as we normally would.

The rest of the week was rather dull to be honest, I did nothing but coursework and sneezing due to being allergic to this soap powder, my highlight was going to Sainsbury’s and counting the fat people as I went along, the total was about 4 million, I would say that over half of the people in there were not just overweight but hideously overweight, the only good thing about it was I had lots of room to move in the fresh fruit and veg aisle.

The next day though I woke up absolutely full of a cold…

How will I carry on?

Will I be able to do any more work?

Will I be well enough to go to the pub quiz that Tuesday?

Will I be well enough for college the week after?

Will I die?

Will it all turn out to just be the soap powder allergy?

Will Brian Blessed turn out to be my real father?

Will I ever get round to doing an up to date blog?

…You’ll just have to wait and see.

TO BE CONTINUED…(how exciting!)

I Don't Like Mondays…

So I got Monday over with, I got there at 9am to find that only 2 other people had turned up so far, everybody came in late - much to the delight of Ziggy - my tutor, who has a very short fuse. He showed us some photos he did the night before on Photoshop, they had a kind of kaleidoscope effect and looked really good, after showing us quickly what had to be done he then ‘randomly’ chose someone to show the rest of the group how it’s done, unfortunately being the new face in the group it was me, I did it all ok but I had to stop halfway through while Ziggy shouted at another tutor for using his computer. After that lesson we headed back to the studio for a couple of hours where I backed all my work up on my free iPod (you’re not going to hear the last of this), I then headed off to Solihull to get some films developed. When I collected them they handed me the prints and said:

“I’m really sorry but your film has been double exposed”
“Yesss!”
“I’m sorry?”
“Oh…um…yeah they’re meant to be like that, I was hoping they’d be double exposed”
“(laughing) Oh, that’s a relief, we were worried about telling you”

These were some experimental long exposures and double exposures that I had been doing over the past few months, some of them came out really really well, but some were just shite. When I got back to college I put some more work on my free iPod (told you) along with some albums that I was after too, we then had web design where we were shoed how to make a website using Flash, unfortunately my tutor didn’t know how to do it so we spent most of the lesson sat round bored while he tried to remember. We finished an hour early but when I got home I was exhausted, thank god I had no plans for Tuesday, I needed a really good sleep.

Tuesday evening we all went to see Underworld Evolution at the cinema, now I wasn’t a fan of the first film so I didn’t have high hopes of the sequel, although I thought I’d give it a go just in case I did like it. As soon as it started though some guy on my left started coughing…and coughing…and coughing, I felt the only way to shut him up would be to kill him but then I thought the blood curdling screams might annoy people even more so I just sat there and had to put up with it. I didn’t think too much of this film, if you hadn’t seen the first one then this will just confuse the hell out of you.

Friday I was back at college, nobody could really get into doing any work though, we all seemed a bit too lethargic and wanted to get the day over with. That was until Jim disappeared for a few minutes then returned singing ‘I have cocaine on the brain’ at the top of his voice in the film developing room. As we headed off to the canteen he told us about this girl he was seeing who likes to…powder her nose a lot. We grabbed something to eat and found Jim chatting these 2 girls up, neither looked too impressed and both left, then he started yelling at this young couple kissing on the other side of the canteen and then shouting (with a police woman stood a few feet away from us) that all the police seem to do all day is eat and go to the toilet. This was turning into a bit of a nightmare as more and more passers by were being commented on either their arse or the way they were dressed. We headed back to the studio realizing that he’d also been powdering his nose only for him to lock himself in the film loading room which is pitch black and can’t be opened from the outside unless you have the key, he was so off his tits that he couldn’t opened the door, so we left him in there for a while to calm down before letting him out using the key.

At the weekend I was expecting this guy to come and buy my car so I had to stay in, the only problem was he didn’t turn up, he had my number but the number he gave me was the wrong one. I’m still stuck with this bloody car, I wish some chav would just steal it…if it would work.

Monday I was back at college, we started at 9 again only for Ziggy to look surprised that we turned up, he thought we had gone somewhere on a trip, so he had nothing planned for the lesson, which suited me because my brain was still waking up. In the afternoon we had web design, we had to do some more work on a flash site but due to the lack of computers I had to just watch, I couldn’t take it all in and started to fall asleep. Luckily I don’t think anybody noticed…unless I started snoring.

One more thing before I finish this blog off, I’ve found out who ‘Anonymous’ is. It’s this retarded chav kid who claims to be from Spain (although I’m sure it’s Birmingham) with an unhealthy obsession with gays and penises and even went to the effort of making me a (badly made) website of photos of me off here saying such phrases as ‘I suk dik’ and ‘I fukd my sista last nite’. This kid even added me to msn the other night claiming it was someone else but used the same retarded spelling mistakes as ‘Anonymous’ and ended the converstation with 'PeAcE -1-'. This kid really is one sorry excuse for a human being and their attempts at spelling and grammar are almost as pathetic as they are.

PeAcE oUt...

…*snigger*
