And The Streets Are Alive With The Sound Of Music...

So in my last blog I promised that things will start changing for the better, and guess what…

…they have!

A couple of weeks ago I met up with a friend from college for a drink, her name is Amanda (or Amo for short), we hadn’t seen each other for a while so it was good to catch up again. We went for a drink in wetherspoons and then decided to catch Shrek 3 at the cinema. When we got to the cinema I went to pay and then remembered that I had a 2 for 1 code…

“2 for Shrek 3 please…”
£9.40 please.
*gives him £7 thinking it would only come to £6*
Thanks…
“Oh yeah I have a 2 for 1 code thingy…”
*watches him get confused, type in the code, hand us the tickets and £7.10 change*
Enjoy your film…
“Thanks.”

As we walked off I realized that not only had he accidentally given me my £7 back but he also gave me an extra 10p…bargain! the film itself was pretty good, not as good as the first 2 Shrek films but definitely worth a watch. I had a really good day…despite a crazy black man coming up to us at the bus stop and saying something I couldn’t quite make out before telling me that I wasn’t miss world…and there was me thinking I was too.

The rest of that week was pretty boring, it was mainly spent trying to sand the radiator, we switched to an electric sander which helped but it’s still taking forever.

Last Monday I met up with Amanda again, we went to wetherspoons and spent most of the day in there, we both got asked for ID too which is pretty funny seeing as I’m 26 in a few months. Once again it was another really good day…no crazy black man at the bus stop…but still a really good day.

The next night I went to wetherspoons again, this time with Adam, Gaz and Carl. Personally I think we should have all gone to the plough…either that or the plough…or maybe even the plough.

Thursday saw the rain stop long enough for me and Gaz to go into Solihull and pick up a few things, afterwards we headed back and grabbed some chips only for the rain to start again.

On to the weekend, and I decided that it was about time to introduce Amanda to my family and vice versa. Amanda came round about lunch time and got on really well with my mum and sister, she stayed the weekend and we had a really nice time.

So 2 weeks after my last blog (if you ignore the fact that this is backdated) and things are finally looking up for me, not only do I have an amazing new girlfriend but I feel a lot more positive about everything now.

I better start writing the next blog now to get this back up to date, so while I do that you can watch a video…

The Golden Mile Is Paved With Shite, Don't Mind Telling You I'm Sick Of Walking Up And Down It Every Single Fucking Night...

Well it’s time to start blogging again, I have 2 weeks to cover so I better fill you in with everything that’s happened…

…and that’s about it really.

2 weeks of nothingness, the only times I’ve been out were to go food shopping and to buy some things to paint the lounge with.

All apart from Friday, it was my mum’s birthday so I popped into Solihull for a present and card, I know I should have done this before the day of her birthday but I left it too late plus my sister owed me some money first.

So anyway, I went into Solihull, I bought my mum a CD player radio alarm thing for her bedroom, I also decided that she should get a book to go with it. After trying a few shops and having no luck I went into WH Smiths where I received a text off Jo who was downstairs, we both went on the search for this book but in the end we gave up.

That evening Gemma and Woody were going to Leicester to see the Chairmen play the battle of the bands, I was invited along so I quickly got ready and they picked me up, we then had to pick Jo and Adam up and get to Leicester…however, there was a problem…

…We were going to pick Adam from his house, although he had arranged to meet us at Jo’s house, this wouldn’t have been a problem if Woody’s phone hadn’t rang to say that the Chairmen were on in 20 minutes…and we were 45 minutes away.

We needed a contingency plan, Leicester was clearly off the cards so it was time for plan B, we got in the car, pointed it towards the jug of ale and drove. This was the first pub I’d been in since the smoking ban had started, you can really tell the difference, not only is the air clean but you can see the other end of the pub without there being a grey mist.

After a while Gaz, Carl, Marcus and Bobby turned up, there was no Jenny tonight because she was on holiday (for a change) in Newquay, so Marcus was able to let his hair down (if that’s possible) and soon got drunk and managed to spill his pint on the table, most people would grab a few sheets of toilet paper from the toilets…but not Marcus, he got the entire industrial sized toilet roll, used a few sheets to mop it up and then left the toilet roll on the table to rest his pint in.

Gemma and Woody left before closing time and then when it was time for us to be kicked out we were left with 2 choices…to all go home…or to stay out. Marcus kept telling us how much he wanted a curry and in the end we decided we could all have a drink and watch as Marcus ate his curry.

So we headed off towards Shapla in Shirley, when we got out the car though everyone seemed to walk into the red lion, not too sure why we didn’t go to Shapla…I really wanted some poppadoms. When we were in the red lion we had a lock in until 3am, I just wanted to get some sleep…and some poppadoms.

So out of the past 14 days I’ve only had one that involved anything happening, sorry about that, I seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut what with not working and everything, things are going to start changing for the better though…

…And that’s a promise!
